Art Auction 2012 From its inception in 1987, the JMU Art Auction has supported three key elements of a thriving arts community at James Madison University: • commitment and support for artists who are JMU alumni, JMU faculty members or residents of the local area; • funds for student scholarships in the College of Visual and Performing Arts; and • a forum for exhibiting fine art that is both significant and original. Welcome to the 12th James Madison University Art Auction. Over the years, proceeds from the JMU Art Auction have provided scholarships and awards to hundreds of young artists, designers and art historians in the School of Art, Design and Art History. Your generous support has allowed us to recruit outstanding students who wish to study the visual arts at James Madison University. Our faculty and staff in the School of Art, Design and Art History join me in thanking the many contributing artists, sponsors and patrons who continue to make the JMU Art Auction a memorable event.
