The pattern seems to be cold, then colder, then snow, and repeat. Hopefully by the time you read this, Spring will be in sight. Or at least by the time you read the printed copy. One welcome diversion from the agony of winter was the annual Chicago Auto Show. BMW North America made almost 300 passes available for a preview on the Friday before the show offcially opened to the public. This is a great way to see all the new BMW models. Nicely detailed Bimmers on clean carpets and displays, no crowds, and all the interior knobs and handles still attached. While I missed the BMW presentation (work seems to get in the way of the fun stuff), some of my favorites were on display. There was a terrifc selection of M cars – an M235i coupe, M3 and an M4, an M5 and an M6 Gran Coupe. I need more garage space! Both BMWi models took center stage, the i3 and i8. While I don’t foresee an i3 in my garage anytime soon, a test drive might be fun. With the electric motor it has a healthy amount of torque available immediately. And it is a BMW. I would like to thank BMW North America for inviting our chapter to the preview again this year, hopefully we can do it again in 2015!
